Energy saving is a significant growth area in our company and raw data obtained from site can be used to assess the current operation of the pumping system. By combining this with our computational modelling expertise, we are able to identify measures to reduce pumping costs, one of the largest cost components to our clients.
Our recommendations would typically include recommendations regarding the use of different pumps or pump speeds at certain times or adjustment of control valve settings. We have recently been involved with designing and optimising turbines for energy recovery in potable water networks where high levels of inefficient pressure throttling are implemented at night.
