Dr Stephen Hunt (Hydraulic Consultant for Hydraulic Analysis Ltd) is chairman of the prestigious Pressure Surges Technical Advisory Committee who’s remit is to publicise all aspects of pressure surge and surge analysis to fellow engineers, consultants, operators, designers, researchers, owners & manufacturers of pipe systems.
The committee and it’s advisory panel consists of eminent consultants, engineers and academics and one of the major ways of publicising its work is though Pressure Surge Conferences in conjunction with BHR Group.
Following the highly successful 10th International Conference on Pressure Surges held in Edinburgh in 2008, the 11th International Conference on Pressure Surges to be held in Lisbon in 2012 will debate the issue of SURGE ANALYSIS – Looking To The Future; Learning From The Past.
With differing solutions across industries, Water, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Hydroelectric, Petrochemical, Automotive, Aerospace and Building Services sectors can all benefit from surge analysis techniques and practical expertise. Whether dealing with potable, foul, or storm water; full or partially full flow regines; firewater systems; cooling systems; water injection; oil and chemical pipelines; power or fuel systems; all can have inherent surge problems, the solutions to which would benefit from dissemenation of past experience from other industries/designers.
